SpineCamp: Full Program Outline
The 3 Phases of Individual, One-on-One, Training
Phase I: Staging: to develop a starting point upon which to build a solid foundation
This phase begins with an in-depth discussion about your present situation, including any treatment and diagnostic testing you may have had. Your past history will also be reviewed.
You will then have plenty of time to ask your questions without feeling rushed or embarrassed and be given answers that are clear, accurate, and understandable.
Staging is also designed to open a new awareness about your unique mechanisms of pain and/or injury. Knowing these mechnaisms will help you respond with the appropriate control rather than react emotionally or out of fear and frustration.
Your next step involves learning how the real clinical scores are kept. Together, we work through a system that defines your starting point, gives you a way to measure your progress, and helps you set realistic expectations about what treatment success means (for this program or any other form of treatment)
Time requirement: 60 to 90 minutes
phase II: implementing: learning 8 simple movements to effectively reduce your pain
We will first discuss the difference between “hurt” and “harm” and how knowing this gives you a head start on quickly reducing or eliminating your low back pain.
I will walk you through a “Motion Response Analysis” to help determine which movements are likely to be the most beneficial for your situation.
For each movement, you will get personalized, step-by-step, coaching on how it is performed, what it is designed to do, and what to expect when using it.
You will learn how to use “motion repetition” and the most important rule to follow when performing it.
This phase concludes with the development of an individualized plan for when, where, and how often each of the movements should be performed.
Time requirement: 45 to 6o minutes
phase iii: auditing: following your progress and developing a relapse prevention plan
We will review each of the basic 8 movements to reinforce performance proficiency. You will become a master at using these movements in any situation.
You will be introduced to advanced dynamic motion techniques to enhance long term spinal stability.
Your progress will be measured by repeating your initial clinical scoring and comparing it against your baseline. I will then discuss with you exactly what your results mean.
Future goals will be discussed and reviewed along with the steps you need to take to give you the best chance of having them accomplished.
We will go into more depth about your history of prior episodes and give you a deeper understanding of the precipitating factors so you can develop an effective, personalized, relapse prevention strategy.
As always, you will be given the necessary time to ask your questions so that you can meet each day with the confidence that comes from knowing how to handle almost any episode of low back pain no matter when or where it occurs.
Time requirement: 45 to 60 minutes
Live Group Coaching: How It Works
Weekly on-line sessions to answer any questions that may arise. You will not be left dangling in the dark and will have consistent, ongoing, support on your journey to self-control and improved function.
Each session will have a focus topic, typically applicable to how and when to use the methods you have learned, and to refine your movements so they are performed with proficiency.
You will be able to interact with other SpineCamp participants (past and present) to hear their success stories, helpful suggestions, and to also share your own.
This program is for self determined individulas who want to live a “can do” rather than “boo hoo.” type of life.
Sessions are held at least weekly, often more frequently, depending on need. The schedule is arranged to make it convenient regardless of your location or time zone.
Although attendance is suggested, it is not mandatory.

You and your MRI: This PDF and Digital creation uses real imaging examples to illustrate the majority of MRI findings that you may encounter. Many of you have become confused or needlessly alarmed about various medical terms that are used in your x-ray or MRI report. Science has clearly demonstrated that many people make bad treatment decisions when they base their decisions only what their MRI has shown. This not only leads to increased costs, but often unsatisfactory outcomes and needless surgery. Although your MRI can be important, it is NOT the “be all, end all” in determining either your diagnosis or treatment. This production will go over what you need to know in a clear and understandable way so that you can use your imaging results to work for you, and not against you.
An E-book titled “3 important things you need to know to make good treatment choices” Those are: (1) What is Real? By this, I mean knowing how treatments work, the effect they have on your body, and how well they really perform. (2) Where are your risks? Everyone has, and needs to consider the same 3 risks..Time, Money, and Health. Each of you differ in those 3 areas and those differences are a large factor in determining which treatment is the best for your situation. (3) How to determine what’s relevant to YOU. The most honest thing that can be said about any of your treatment options is this: “Everything works for someone. Nothing works for everyone. And, no one can predict with certainty how well any treatment will work for anyone.” The good about having over 250 different treatments for low back pain is that if something doesn’t work, you can always try something else. The bad, however, is that many people end up in a never ending downward spiral because they haphazardly take a “hit or miss” approach when making treatment choices, which rarely turns out well.
A step-by-step template for developing your own personal relapse prevention plan.
Why “Smart Movement?”
Action without intent makes for wasteful exertion of energy and confusion between movement and progress.
Spine-Camp is all about progress. You will learn 8 simple movements from 3 positions that effectively reduce or eliminate low back pain in almost any situation.
You will also learn how just 1 rule lets you differentiate “hurt” from “harm” and gives you the ability to determine the most useful movement(s) to use.
“Smart Movement” is being aware of the when, why, and how of what you do so your movements have purpose, power, and effectiveness.
Keeping proper score means knowing the “metrics that matter.” This will give you the ability to:
Determine if treatment is needed. Too often people seek treatment when it would be better to wait.
Understand what treatment success means. It’s rarely a perfect cure and, for many reasons, it’s important to know how success is defined.
Knowing the metrics will also help you measure your own progress and make accurate comparisons between different types of care.
Keeping score the right way lets you make good choices and avoid guessing about your progress.
Mastery means that you are victorious over, and not victimized by, low back pain interrupting your life. As a master of your back pain, your life will be better because:
You will confidently know how to handle your low back pain no matter when or where it occurs.
You will have a new found awareness to that lets you be proactive and take anticipatory action to recognize and minimize risk of reinjury.
Your risk of making common mistakes will be greatly reduced becuase you will have reliable guidance and information that avoids fear based decisions.
SpineCamp helps you take charge of your back pain so you can live as a victor, not a victim.
